Oluwa Olamiposi Omoyele, born on 1st July and preferred to be called Yele. Lover of anything written. A christian, a word weaver, lover of root renaissance, percussion and woodwind instruments, a teen, a different person to different people and most importantly a learner.
When did you commence writing?
I have loved writing since senior secondary school but I really commenced writing April 2014 after a series of drill in December 2013
What is the hardest thing about writing?
Personally, remembering and putting down an idea that occurred as a flash when I’m neither with a book or my mobile is the hardest. Although in a bid to remember, others flood in but that’s about the hardest for me.
Where do your ideas come from and how do you get inspired?
Smiles. I get inspiration from everything around me.
The ideas pour in and I try my best to put them down.
But most of the time, it comes from solitude.
What is your favorite book and why?
Purpose And Possibilities – Israel Daniels
I understood self discovery and self worth after its study.
Where can you see yourself in 5 years time?
I see myself as a writer and a member of the bar.
And like a colleague said- ‘I see myself mending words into articles to cover the nakedness of man and also as a sword revealing folly.’
How do you think you’ve evolved creatively?
To the best of my knowledge- Yes. I’ve been able to write poetry as a drama. I write poetic plays and dialogues.
What are your ambition(s) for your writing career? Or do you just write for fun?
For writing, I aspire my ink’s prowess and flow to reach out to all and sundry, impacting and mending the broken ones. Not just lives here but the immediate society and the world at large.
I aspire to project my words into actions
How can readers discover more about your work?
What is your favorite quote?
‘Your desperation is the determining factor for your achievement’
Who is/are your role model(s)?
There are various people even within my age range that inspire me a lot.
I can’t pinpoint who is an embodiment of all virtues I so desire.
I dig others to decipher the virtues to emulate irrespective of who she/he is or must have been said to be.
To what end to you want to dance with poetry?
As long as I breathe and have knowledge of beats, I’ll dance to poetry’s tune
What other genre of literature do you specialize on apart from poetry?
Drama and prose
Thanks dear princess.
ENJOY ONE OF HER POEM TITLED
With finesse was she culled from yonder
And she struck just like thunder
Ready to mate the world
Just like a stud.
Her ink, busy sketching
Her knife, always etching
Her paints, seeking unison
Her brush, seeking perfection
Her terseness are so perfect
Her images are so apt.
Is a misery
Is in reality.
